CODERE rompe su alianza con William Hill

Codere ha roto su alianza con la británica William Hill, con la que lanzó en España el negocio de apuestas deportivas Victoria, de la que cada uno controla el 50% del capital. La ruptura de la joint venture se hará efectiva en los próximos meses, según señala Codere. Además, la compañía no descarta … … que la participación de William Hill sea adquirida por un tercero. La empresa española apunta que la ruptura se debe al cambio de estrategia que ha emprendido en los últimos meses William Hill, que ha decidido decantarse por el negocio de apuestas online. Sin embargo, detrás de la marcha de la compañía británica también estaría la lentitud de las autonomías españolas en legislar sobre apuestas deportivas, ya que hasta la fecha sólo dos comunidades han regulado esta actividad: Madrid y País Vasco.

Codere explica en su presentación de resultados del primer trimestre que Victoria ha obtenido unos ingresos de 0,8 millones, mientras los gastos de esta división han alcanzado el millón de euros. Mientras, el beneficio del grupo a 31 de marzo alcanzó 1,7 millones, un 54% más que en el mismo periodo de 2008
